"Rest..."

January 17, 2015

Rest:  1. the refreshing quiet or repose of sleep.  2. refreshing ease or inactivity after exertion or labor.  3. relief or freedom, esp. from trouble, or anxiety; solitude, tranquility, peace.

Repose:  1. the state of being at rest; sleep.  2. peace or tranquility, calm.  3. dignified calmness; composure.  4. to be peacefully calm and quiet.

Sometimes we have to make ourselves rest so that we can be refreshed from all the noise and chatter that can come about from our daily lives.  It's an absolute necessity to deliberately find a tranquil space so that you can re-group and allow yourself time for reflection while also giving your body, mind and spirit an opportunity to rest and be at peace.

Without it you can open yourself up to the absolute opposite which can cause anxiety, stress and utter confusion.  When we allow our bodies to rest it puts our minds at ease and it also allows us to be better human beings.

Our physical bodies need rest after working out so that we don't have muscle fatigue, burn out or injuries.  We need to rest between sets when we are lifting weights as well it helps to rest with days on and days off when working with a strenuous weight lifting and work out regimen.

The bottom line is that rest does the body good!!
