"Don't Ever, Ever, Ever,Never Give Up!"

 January 31, 2015

Quit:  1. to stop, cease, or discontinue.  2. to depart from; leave.  3. to stop trying, struggling, or the like; accept or acknowledge defeat.

Today is the last day of 2015, yippee, hip, hip, hooray!  We've made it through the first month of a New Year, through the ups and downs and we're here facing another day leading into a new month with a fresh 24 hours to make right any wrongs and continue to strive toward the goals we've set.  I know it's not easy but one minute at a time leads to one hour that leads to one day at a time!!

You can do it!        Yes you can!

The best part is, every day you wake up, even if you freakin blew it the day before, guess what?  You get a fresh 24 hours to start all over again!  (Smile)  And TODAY you will succeed, you will do it!

  "Don't Quit!"

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won if he'd stuck it out.
Don't give up, though the pace seems slow~
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor's cup,
And he learned too late, when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out~
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are~
It may be near when it seems afar,
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit~
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit.

"Be The Change You Want To See!"

January 30. 2015

Change:  1.  to make different in form.  2. to transform; to pass from one phase to another.

I know that we've heard this saying a million times, yet as simple as the phrase seems to be, it's probably one of the most difficult to implement.  Change is what we all want but it's the action of making change that keeps us from actually changing.  Change requires making a decision and sticking by the decision that you make.

Change also requires discipline and it's not always easy to be disciplined, but once you make your mind up to do what you're passionate about you'll start saying things like "I can't believe that it's taken me this long to get started!"

Be the change that you want to see in order to take charge of your destiny.  Nathaniel Emmons says that "Habit is either the best of servants or the worst of masters."

We must challenge ourselves and set personal development goals.  Helen Keller says it best "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing."

"Be the one in the arena, get your face marred, strive valiantly and even if you err or come up short you're putting in the effort with great devotion.  Be the one that's not timid, or cold, be the one that our 26th President Theodore Roosevelt says in the end you know high achievement because you're the one that dares greatly!"

That my friend is what it takes to Change.......

"Affirm Yourself!"

January 29, 2015

Affirmation:  1. the act of affirming;p state of being affirmed.  2. the assertion that something exists or is true.  3. confirmation or ratification of a prior judgment, decision, etc.

Affirm:  1. to assert positively, maintain as true.  2. to confirm or ratify.  3. to express agreement with; support; uphold.  4. to state something solemnly before a court or magistrate, but without oath.

Affirming:  1. affirming or asserting the truth, validity, or fact of something.  2. expressing agreement or consent; assenting.  3. something that affirms or asserts; affirmation.

Sometimes you may have to affirm yourself because the bottom line is you may not have anyone in your life that will speak positive affirmations to you on a daily basis.  I know it sounds good, all fuzzy and everything but that's not reality for most people.  Most of us have to get in where we fit in, we have to get it when the getting is good and in order to keep it good you must find it within yourself to tell yourself how beautiful, worthy, deserving and fabulous you are!  We must take a cue from the late great Michael Jackson and talk to the man or woman in the mirror and make a change.  Go for the gusto!  Reach for the stars!

" Man In The Mirror"
~by Michael Jackson

"I'm gonna make a change
For once in my life
It's gonna feel real good
Gonna make a difference
Gonna make it right

As I, turn up the collar on
My favorite winter coat
This wind is blowing my mind
I see the kids in the streets
With not enough to eat
Who am I to be blind?
Pretending not to see their needs

A summer's disregard, a broken bottle top
And one man's soul
They follow each other on the wind ya' know
'Cause they got nowhere to go
That's why I want you to know

I'm starting with the man in the mirror
I'm asking him to change his ways
And no message could have been any cleaner
If you want to make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself, and then make a change

I've been a victim of a selfish kind of love
It's time that I realize
That there are some with no
Home, not a nickel to loan
Could it be really me
Pretending that they're not alone?

A widow deeply scarred,
Somebody's broken heart
And a washed-out dream
They follow the pattern of
The wind, Ya'see
Cause they got no place to be

That's why I'm starting with me

I'm starting with the man in the Mirror!!!"

"The Wheel of Dharma......"

January 28, 2015

"The Wheel of Dharma is the translation of the Sanskrit word, "Dharmacakra."  It's similar to a revolving wheel on a cart that symbolizes the Buddha's teaching as it continues to be spread like that of the infinity circle, endlessly.......

The eight spokes on the wheel are the  "Noble Eightfold Path of Buddhism" that are Buddha's most important Way of Practice:

The Eightfold Paths are:

1. Right view

2. Right thought

3. Right speech

4. Right livelihood

5. Right effort

6. Right mindfulness

7. Right meditation

The joy and beauty of enlightenment is allowing yourself to be open to the intimacy of truth.  One of the last teachings of Buddha was for mankind to make himself a light and for us to keep a pure mind with transiency a continual forethought by not being entangled with greed or impurities of the soul, spirit and thought.

"Walk Yourself Thin!"

January 27, 2015

Walking:  1. able to walk; ambulatory.  2. living; live:  3. of or pertaining to a mechanical part that moves back and forth. 4. the act or action of a person or thing that walks.

Walk:  1. to advance or travel on foot at a moderate speed or pace; proceed by advancing the feet alternately so that there is always one foot on the ground in bipedal locomotion and two or more feet on the ground in quadrupedal locomotion.  2. to move about or travel on foot for exercise or pleasure:  3. to move in a manner suggestive of walking, as through repeated vibrations.

I'm reading a book called "Walk Yourself Thin" by David Rives.  The book is based on the program "Get-Thin-For-Life".  If you haven't read the book I suggest that you pick up a copy of it.  It's a small little book  with about 150 pages and talks about the benefits of walking your way to better health and wellness.

In the book the author takes us on a journey that allows us as the readers to explore a "wonderful new world" that uncovers the benefits of a thin walking "Exercise" program that's different than a diet.  Thinwalking allows for two things to happen: daily a pound of fat will disappear and a pound of new leg muscle will appear in it's place so that at the end of each day you'll be one pound skinnier!!

The premise is that you'll be skinnier without losing weight because a pound of muscle takes up less space than a pound of fat allowing us to lose a lot of size without losing a lot of weight.

I will say that this concept is hard to wrap your mind around in the beginning because the one thing we want to do is lose weight.  Our weight is our obsession, that's what it's all about, weight, weight, weight.  We get there with our thinking and we have a tendency to stay there, but let me tell you it's a mind set, and if you allow yourself to re-set your mind, you can experience true transformation but it starts with the renewing of your mind.  Think outside of the box!  Look at it this way, we've all probably done it all with every diet, fad, program, philosophy, etc; we've been there, done that and have the tee shirts.  So, for me and David the author of Thinwalking to come along and say that you can eat without going on some crazy diet and that you can "Walk Yourself Thin" you have to think I'm crazy, but I'm not.

First let me say this like the author says in the book,  I'm no doctor, don't believe a word I say and go to your own physician before you embark upon any weight loss program, walkinuany other thing that I may say or suggest,

CONSULT YOUR OWN PHYSICIAN FIRST, SEEK HIS MEDICAL, PROFESSIONAL COUNSEL FIRST.

Now, that being said, I personally have over the last 3 months have lost inches, not necessarily weight by just changing my eating habits.  The scale has barely moved, I personally was obsessed with weighing myself EVERY DAY because the scale was where it all is, right?  I only stopped weighing in daily to keep my sanity, but by stopping with the scale obsession I continued with my changes and started noticing that I could fit clothes I haven't worn in years.  I also started hearing from people that I look differently.  I even noticed in the mirror when I would put on clothes that they look different so I know that that part of the program works.

Now it's time to Walk It Out!!

"Consecrate....."

January 26, 2015

Consecrate:  1.  to make or declare sacred; dedicate to the service of deity.  2. to make an object of honor or veneration; hallow.  3. to devote or dedicate to some purpose.  4. to change.

Unadulterated: 1. not diluted or made impure.  2. absolute; pure.

Usually when I hear the word consecrate it's related to religion when we give up something and fully dedicate ourselves as an act of devotion to God.

I've been thinking about how I'm going through transformation with my health and body and how this is an act of consecration.

I believe by being obedient to transforming my health and body that this is a spiritual experience and a true call to divine purpose and God's true will for my life and by doing so it's holiness in it's purest form.  This is going behind the veil and answering to the call and purpose for my life.

Stay focused, find purpose, give your best self to yourselves and that will allow us to give our best for someone else.......

Mother Teresa says that "God doesn't command that we do great things, only little things with great love."

We are the divinity of God created in his image and likeness, holy, unadulterated divine human beings.

"Thank You!!"

January 25, 2015

There comes a time when we must recognize everything and everyone around us and acknowledge anyone and everything that has inspired, encouraged and motivated me along my journey in life and I want to take the time to say Thank You......

I am so Thankful to God that he has spared me and given me a chance to make the best out of my life and that means so much to me.  I am humbled by life and for having a life today.  I feel warm, delicious and all kinds of juiciness on the inside of me.

Let's make music, In Jesus' Name!!"

Amen.

P.S.

I'm emotionally drained and physically tired today.
